The NBA is actively looking for an Associate Counsel, Player Matters.

Indeed, the Position Summary is as follow:

To assist in all matters handled by the Legal Department related to #NBA players and administration of the game, including items related to:

Administration and enforcement of NBA rules

Analysis/advice regarding the Salary Cap and other facets of the NBA/NBPA Collective Bargaining Agreement

Management of processes related to trades Free agency and other related matters

Collective bargaining with the National Basketball Players Association (#NBPA)

Support of basketball operations initiatives

Required Skills/Knowledge:

Excellent record of academic and professional achievement

3-6 years of experience at a law firm and/or in-house legal department

Excellent analytical, writing, and oral presentation skills

Organizational and project management skills necessary to support and advise legal and business units and ensure projects are completed in a timely and effective manner

High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance

Strong familiarity with NBA game, teams, and players a plus
