Mission:


The Governance & Compliance Officer will oversee and coordinate UEFA policies in the sphere of governance and compliance. Working in close cooperation with other UEFA departments (e.g. Legal, Finance, National Associations), they will ensure that UEFA takes all reasonable organisational measures required to build and implement a modern corporate governance and compliance programme and framework and strengthen UEFA’s ethical and compliance culture. They will drive compliance with new and emerging regulatory requirements and advise on a wide range of matters to ensure that UEFA and its structures (e.g. subsidiaries, internal bodies) remain fit for purpose from a governance standpoint.



Key Responsibilities :


Designing and implementing policies, processes and strategies that drive good governance across UEFA and integrate the principles of effective compliance into daily operations; - Providing ongoing support and advice on the dynamic regulatory landscape, industry trends and internal operations, and communicating solution-based recommendations accordingly; - Overseeing the flow of financial distributions made by UEFA to its member associations and other bodies. Investigating incidents, overseeing audits (including liaison with internal/external auditors) and suggesting action to address any shortfalls; - Ensuring the smooth running of UEFA's Governance and Compliance Committee, interacting with its members on a regular basis; - Providing advice and recommendations to UEFA’s top management; - Overseeing and monitoring UEFA’s compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and with internal regulations, policies and procedures; - Developing and revising regulations, policies and procedures for the general operation of the compliance programme, for example on anti-bribery, anti-corruption, conflicts of interest, gifts and hospitality, rights sales and due diligence; - Participating in events and meetings organised by key stakeholders (e.g. EU, Council of Europe) to further develop and promote UEFA's commitment and activities related to good governance, integrity and transparency; - Developing cooperation with key external stakeholders;


- Developing and implementing an effective reporting policy available to the whole of UEFA; - Drafting a wide range of written materials to disseminate information to external stakeholder audiences and ensuring follow-up. Profile of successful candidate Experience required: - Minimum 6 years of progressively more senior experience in a compliance and governance function in an international environment Education: - Relevant postgraduate qualification Languages: - English / Proficient - Fluency in at least, one other European language Additional requirements: - MS PowerPoint / Advanced - MS Word / Advanced - Excellent project-management, organisational and administrative skills, showing a systematic approach combined with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy - Flexibility and adaptability in approach to work, clarity of thought under pressure and ability to maintain confidentiality - Team-oriented and effective interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a team and interface with a broad
